Would be my last choice in a beef stroganoff recipe... If you make it as per the recipe, it tastes like beef stroganoff without garlic and an over abundance of salt and worcestershire sauce. I had to eat it, since I went to the trouble of making it, but I never would again. There are lots of GOOD stroganoff recipes out there. There is no reason to use this one.

Tasty. Got finished with preparation and realized I had forgotten the flour—probably why it wasn't overly thick. Will not use flour in the future. Also, it would be helpful to dilute the soup. Those 2 things should solve the thickness issue. Used fresh garlic and red pepper flakes. Altogether an easy and yummy basic meal. Husband loved it.

Used only 1/3 of the recommended amount of Liquid Smoke and it was still overpowering. Family didn't care for the taste.

Wow, super comfort food quality! I would like to say that I followed the recipe exactly, but I didn't have any liquid smoke so I had to leave that out. It was very thick so I added a teaspoon of Better than Bouillon beef concentrate with a cup of water and this was made it the perfect consistency to spoon over the egg noodles.

I made the recipe as written. It was easy to put together. Next time I make this recipe I'll use fresh garlic.

We all want a recipe the way we like it, tweaking it to suit our taste. Doesn't necessarily make the recipe good or bad. This was a good-tasting recipe, and easy, which is what most of us want. I read this recipe and could tell that with the flour, it was going to be very stiff, because there's not enough liquid in it to make a gravy-type sauce. I followed the recipe exactly, except didn't add liquid smoke, as stroganoff doesn't seem like a recipe that has a smoke flavor. The sauce became extremely thick so I added 1 cup of milk. I didn't use a whole pound of ground beef, as I don't care for tons of meat in my food. I added a large clove of minced garlic. I added extra Worcestershire for more taste. The only other thing I did differently is serve it over mashed potatoes, as I don't care for egg noodles or rice. It was very good.

I made 1 change to the recipe and that was I used canned burger to cut down the time even more. I will make this again in the future but will cut the liquid smoke in half, it was a little stronger than I cared for.

If you do not use lean ground beef, drain the fat after browning before adding the other ingredients. Hubby liked this dish more than I did. Had to add a lot of salt and pepper for additional seasoning. Served over cooked noodles.

Quick, easy meal. I made it according to directions and also review suggestions. I didn't have paprika but added Mexican spice Tajin, classic seasoning I also adde red pepper flakes, and cooking sherry to lighten it up Overall, real good. I will make it again.

I made it but I too made some revisions based on everyone else's feedback. I used half the amount of seasoning salt, liquid smoke and flour. I added a little more mushroom than what it called for and 4 tbsp of butter. I wish I would have added the beef broth to make it a little less thick but so glad I didn't follow the recipe exactly. I think it would have been thicker and way too salty. Overall with my revisions, it was delicious.

The only change I made was to use ground venison as I have plenty in my freezer. Excellent cold weather dish!

Ironically, I don't like mushrooms.. so didn't add fresh mushroom, but did use can of mushroom soup, per recipe. Also didn't add liquid smoke, subbed beef stock, which help to thin out stroganoff. My hubby and I both loved it. Needs fresh parsley as garnish, didn't have, but did add some dried parsley. Delish!

Very easy and delicious recipe. The sauce is very thick. If you like a thinner stroganoff I think this would be good by including a little beef broth when adding the ingredients at the end.

This was easy to put together. It's a good basic recipe. It's given me a place to start and build on. I'll make it again, but next time a little more salt and fresh garlic. I'll experiment with other seasonings as well. It has a lot of potential.

I liked it a lot. The liquid smoke is a nice touch. I had all the ingredients ( a rarity) and the flavors were a great balance. My wife is gluten-free, so I paired it with Jovial Egg Tagliatelle GF Pasta and it paired so well I doubt most would know it was not real wheat pasta. She suggested a a little heat, so I think I will try a few red pepper flakes the next time around. Good recipe!

This recipe is so easy to make, and one pot! I like to serve my Strognaoff with egg noodles. I make 3 cups, set aside and make the Stroganoff in the same pot. I add the egg noodles at the end. It needs a little extra sauce to soak into the noodles, so I add milk to make creamier and set up. Very delicious - 5 Star Recipe!!

Well, I'm pretty sure there's an item missing in this recipe - liquid. After cooking the onions, mushrooms, fresh garlic and hamburger, I added the flour. This is where liquid is usually added to make a gravy. I added a 14.5 Oz can of beef broth. Otherwise it was just too thick. Did not add Worcestershire sauce or liquid smoke as that didn't sound good in this dish. However, I added lots of fresh garlic in addition to the garlic powder. As someone else suggested, I added a dash of pepper flakes, and some parsley. It was a quick and easy meal. Served over linguini.

I made this and followed the recipe with only these changes. I only had "smoked paprika" and because of this I did not put in the full amount of liquid smoke. I would say if using the smoked paprika do not add any liquid smoke. Otherwise, recipe was easy and quick and would make again.

Needed a dish with 'soft' meat for someone who has had recent dental surgery. This met the need. Great taste. Easy . Quick . Would definitely fix again.

06/16/21- I couldn't even finish my plate. The recipe calls for AN ENTIRE TBSP of Liquid Smoke! I put in about three drops of the Hickory and almost had to evacuate my kitchen. The smell was a major turn-off and the dish smelled like it all the way to the table! I could NOT get this food passed my nose. There is a reason it says optional. When I finally, begrudgingly, tried it, a lot of the smoke flavor didn't transfer (thank GOD) but it was like a wet meatloaf? It was okay. I don't think I'll make it again. -Meg Newhouse

Good recipe! A little bland according to instructions. I add salt/pepper to taste. Also used fresh garlic.
